What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

Solo artists like Elliott Smith, Justin Vernon, Kate Bush and John Frusciante first inspired me to start making music under my own name, as at the time I didn’t know where to start in terms of starting a band, so it was much easier to get some cheap software and mic and start recording full songs by myself in my bedroom. I started recording my own stuff when I was 17 and its all evolved from there, gradually building a live band up, starting with acoustic and keys, then percussion, then another guitarist and bassist.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

This EP is my first collective body of work and because of that, I chose mental health as a theme which glues all of the songs together and gives the whole EP a topic and purpose.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

Musically my main influences have been Tom Petty, The Shins, Foals, Phoebe Bridgers, The War on Drugs and Kate Bush. Aside from Phoebe Bridgers who is relatively new, I’ve been listening to all of these for years and years and this has definitely influenced how I write a song and what I think should make up a song.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

I don’t know if my sound is unique or anything but I would like to think my falsetto and the harmonies I include in all my songs are quite distinctive.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Despite having done a degree in English Literature I’m really not that into books, so I’ll take 1 album and 2 movies..the album is Lost in the Dream by The War on Drugs, and movies are The Boat That Rocked and Guardians of the Galaxy 2!

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

I love the studio as I like little more than creating something new, however there is absolutely no feeling like playing live with your friends and its very difficult to match that buzz.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

To be honest I think I’m still waiting for the time when I fall off the stage or get pooped on by a bird mid set, things are pretty chill when we do shows and we’ve remained accident free so far!

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I think ‘Slow My Heart Rate Down’ from the EP is my most unique, I’ve not made a song like it in terms of where it starts and where it ends up.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Towards the end of year the UK can definitely expect to see us travelling all over and expect this EP to be a prequel to something bigger.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

Would you rather look like a fish or smell like a fish?

I would rather look like a fish.
