What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

I started to make music because my dad used to play the guitar at home when I was a kid. Soon I asked my parents to have guitar lessons and so my music training started.
I have always arranged and composed music by myself, but it wasn’t until I moved to Berlin that I started to experiment with different sounds, genres and instrumentations: all of this led me to record two Eps (Drifting and Nebula).

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

The pieces for Nebula were composed and recorded end 2017. In this EP there is a bigger use of synths compared to “Drifting”: dealing the compositions of Nebula with loneliness as a human condition, I wanted to create a contrast between the fragile sound of the acoustic instruments and the harsh sound of the synths to represent better our fragility against everything around us.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

My biggest influences come from my own life experiences, but also thorough the books I read and paintings.
My biggest musical influence has been always Bach…he is the only composer I never feel tired of listening to because in his music there is always something to discover and something to learn.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

There are no solo instruments in my music. I try to put in sounds my ideas using each instrument as a different colour (like a small orchestra), and when the acoustic instruments are not enough I use synths.
In my music each instrument is part of the puzzle and gives a contribution to the whole. Plus there is the classical guitar which gives to the ensemble a specific sound. I like to think about my compositions as stories, each one conveying a specific idea.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

J.S. Bach- Complete Concertos
Dowland – Musicke for the Lute (Paul O’dette)
Chopin: The Nocturnes (Claudio Arrau)

Gabriel José García Márquez – One Hundred years of solitude

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

I love both, but the live performance is the most important to me, as the pieces I write become alive through this energy-connection that is created between musicians and public.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

I was practicing once in an airport in the Netherlands (I was waiting for my flight) and a man came to me and he started to listen to what I was playing, writing sometimes notes on his notebook. He then told me that he was a writer and that one of his books was entitled after my hometown in Italy. After a couple of weeks he sent me a photo of me playing in the airport and he wrote a nice article about me wishing me luck for my future career.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I think “Cosmos” from my second EP Nebula is quite unique for how it is written: the way the different instruments communicate with each other reminds me a bit of a baroque piece, but this kind of chaos is also alternated with more dreamy passages.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

I am planning to play more concerts in 2019 and I am currently working on my debut album which I want to record and release in 2019.
